Duravit is one of the most fêted names in the bathroom design scene
and time and time again they have come up with some of the most
the Duravit name and epitomizes the company’s legendary aesthetically
pleasing approach. The collection has been designed in collaboration
with Phoenix Design and fittings manufacturer Hansgrohe and features
fittings, washbasins, tubs, bath-shower mixers, shower arms and
wall-mounted showers.
The PuraVida collection brings poetic purity and a gentle sense of style into
the bathroom space. Nothing is excessive or garish and the
collection is dominated by a structured fluidity that seems to
increase the synergy between the various accessories. Interestingly,
light plays a crucial part in the collection as it adds to the
illusion of purity and evokes a sense of soft calm.
It’s always tricky to reconcile creative designs with the functional
demands, but with PuraVida, Duravit has managed to strike the balance
between function and form beautifully. No fitting or piece looks out
of place and care has been taken to appease to the current design
sensibilities. All accessories have been styled with a contemporary
chutzpah as the entire collection, is dominated by sensuous lines,
stunning silhouettes and a subtle palette.
The entire range of ceramics, furniture and bathtubs may have an
inherent simplicity to it but don’t mistake it for ordinary. The
PuraVida series is dominated by sculptural lines that will even
impress the most discerning client.
Says the designers:
“Everything about this range is completely subtle, nothing is
excessive, nothing is pretentious. In the future, there will be a need
for a new form, for new emotion. Everything will become more joyful
and more lively.”
The feminine touch omnipresent in the collection is no coincidence and
neither is the symbiotic relationship between the ceramics and
fittings which according to Duravit should give an illusion “as if
they had grown naturally like a tree from the earth,” The pristine
colors, the soft lines and the sophisticated forms makes PuraVida
extremely ethereal and also give it an illusion of space. The
harmonized convergence between the range of ceramics, furniture and
bathtubs leaves a lasting impact and highlights Duravit’s predilection
for poised experimentation.
